Notice on Repatriation of Ugandan Nationals and Residents

Notice on Repatriation Flight of 7^th September

1.      As you are aware, the Uganda High Commission in New Delhi, India, has been receiving continuous requests to facilitate and coordinate the repatriation of Ugandans and residents/ work permit holders at their own cost to Uganda. This is in view of the continued suspension of international flights amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

 2.      Following clearance by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uganda regarding third repatriation of nationals and residents, Satguru Travels and Tours Limited, a travel company based in Kampala, is the business service provider approved by the Mission to organise a repatriation flight scheduled for Monday 7^th September 2020. The Mission wishes to reiterate that Ugandans who wish to travel home will be required to meet their own costs of repatriation and quarantine.

 3.      Accordingly,there will be one flight departing from Mumbai International Airport on Monday 7^th of September; at 5:20 am local time. This fligh tpasses through Addis 

Ababa and is estimated to arrive at Entebbe International Airport at 17:00 hours, the same day.

4.     All passengers must be at the airport at least five hours before departure time.

 5.     Passengers are therefore required to organise their own transport from their current places/states of residence to the designated airport in Mumbai.

6.      Kindly note that seat availability will be on a "First Come First Serve" basis; and that priority will be given to Ugandans, patients and their care-givers.

 7.     The deadline for receiving payments is currently 4^th September 2020 at 18:00 hrs Indian Standard time (IST) to allow the Mission a day or two to finalise modalities with the Government of India (GOI) regarding the repatriation.  8.     Passengers are advised to plan their travel to the airport with Indian Government set      guidelines in mind. 

 9.      This is to draw to your attention forms which MUST BE FIILLED as part of the SOPs required for your travel to and quarantine on arrival in   Uganda. The first form is an undertaking and agreement by you to undergo a  mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival at Entebbe airport on top of the  COVID-19 test  which you should have taken prior to departure;at a recognized GOI  facility. The certificate for that test must be in English and duly stamped. The second form is your mandatory quarantine at an approved facility by the Ministry of Health of the GOU.

 10.  These forms will require signature of an Official from the Mission who  will be in Mumbai three days prior to the departure of the flight. Accordingly the Mission will institute a temporary office at Hyatt Regency Mumbai; with effect from 8:30 am on Friday, 4^th September. Document verification services will be provided daily up to 4:30 pm,taking into consideration curfew hours as enforced  by the Mumbai lockdown.

 11.  Please note that the document verification exercise will end at 3:00 pm on Sunday, 6^th of September; to allow the Mission time to tidy up other arrangements pertaining to your flight. No verification will be carried out thereafter until the departure of the flight at 5:20 am on Monday. All prospective passengers for this flight are therefore strongly advised to ensure that they register well before the closing time of 3:00 pm on 6^th September.

 12.  Note that no one will be allowed to board the flight without verified documents by the High Commission.

13.  Ugandans whose visas have expired and are intending to travel should ensure that they obtain their exit permits from the local FRRO to avoid being denied to exit the airport. The application link ishttps://indianfrro.gov.in/eservices/home.jsp
